Polish storyteller visits school

On Wednesday 6th March, Polish Storyteller, Maggie Bankowska-Sylla visited Pine, Willow and Beech Class to tell them a story completely in Polish. The children across all three classes were engrossed in the story and couldn’t believe how much they could understand. Maggie taught them key vocabulary from the story before reading it and when Mrs Moore visited Beech Class in the afternoon they were all confidently taught her some Polish words! The children able to speak Polish in each class. took great pride in having a conversation with Maggie and being able to explain the story more fully to their peers. We would like to thank Maggie so much for this opportunity that captured the interest of so many of our pupils.
